James Madison Presidential Tours
The 4th President of the United States (with the able assistance of Mr. Bil Lewis) is speaking on the issues of 1776 and how they influenced the creation of the Constitution and the country we have today. He would be pleased to come to your school, club, society, etc. to present and discuss the founding of the country.

For High Schools
With the participation of your students playing the parts of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Dolley Madison, etc., he will lead reenactments from the Declaration of Independence, the Constitutional Convention, the “Dinner Party,” etc., ending with the peaceful transition of power from Washington to Adams that marked the coming of age of the United States.
More than a mere recitation of dates and facts, we will explore the underlying reasons that prompted them to act as they did.
Many of the issues they confronted then continue to be relevant today.
- How we pay off our debts?
- Who gets the power of Taxation?
- Who gets taxed?
- Should Private Banks issue money?
- Should we involve ourselves in foreign wars?
- Should we be agrarian?
- Should we be a center of manufacturing?
- How do we limit the influence of Great Corporations on our public life
- How do we eliminate Slavery?
- How do we make real the “Spirit of ’76?” So we can truly say that “All Men are Created Equal.”
Typically done as a 90 minute presentation, the President will come to your classroom and lead your students through the events and discussions about our country. The presentation covers a good portion of the Massachusetts State History Curriculum.
Based on a dozen full presentations and many more abbreviated ones, I can confidently state that nobody ever falls asleep. (It's exciting to see your friends performing up on stage.) Moreover, from student's questions and challenges, it is clear they are following the issues.

For Organizations
The President is pleased to engage your members in shorter presentations, performing only a few of the vignettes from the full presentation above. Perhaps you would enjoy hearing largely about my friend and opponent, Patrick Henry. Or Alexander Hamilton. Or my wife Dolley--the "Lady Presidentess."
Or perhaps you should like a more formal speech. The President is pleased to talk about any of the people, issues, or events that he was involved with.
The President is also a member of "Solo Together," an association of re-enactors of numerous different People in History. An excellent association: SoloTogether!
The President Online
With the amazing developments in the areas of the Sciences and Manufactures, the President is now able to converse with you by the use of Doctor Franklin's Electricity. Currently using the Zoom application, he is happy to join you in your home and talk about the country and his concerns.

Remuneration
If your organization has the ability to offer an honorarium, that would be marvelous. I should be happy to accept your money. I typically ask $300 for an event lasting a couple of hours.
If you do not have that capacity, I am sure we can work something out.
Previous Presentations
I have had the great honor and pleasure of speaking at a number of Massachusetts libraries, including Long Meadow, Ashfield, Greenfield, Westford, Tweksbury, Watertown, Orleans, Oak Bluffs, East Bridgewater, the South Shore Officers’ Association, and the Stoughton Historical Society. I'm sure that any of them would be pleased to tell you of my visit.
I have also presented at the National Archives, the Shirley-Eustis House, Oliver Ellsworth's Homestead, and the Massachusetts Statehouse. I am teaching High School classes over Zoom under Outschool.com.
Along with the paying "gigs" above, I had the pleasure of teaching several hundred Jr. High and High School students as part of MIT's "Splash!" and “Spark!” programs. (Highly recommended!) With 2 hours, I had time to bring out the quill pens. Every student got their very own quill (goose or turkey) and we practiced writing. They LOVED it.
